Axean Pacific to Deliver Military Desktop Deployment
HAWAII HIGH-TECH COMPANY TO DELIVER
MILITARY DESKTOP DEPLOYMENT
June 18, 2002 - Axean Pacific, Inc., a Hawaii-based small business, has been selected by Dell and QualxServ to provide desktop deployment services in Hawaii for one of the largest Military projects in the world - the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) Program. NMCI is a Department of the Navy program that will deliver comprehensive, end-to-end information services enterprise-wide to the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps through a common computing and communications environment. Axean technical staff will work under subcontract to Dell and QualxServ to deploy new Dell desktops and migrate existing desktops in several locations throughout Hawaii.
Victor Tayao, Axean Pacific's President, commented that, "Axean engineers, under subcontract to both Dell and QualxServ, are currently building the NMCI server farms in Hawaii that will service these desktops. It is logical that the same core resource group continues to deploy the desktops. So far this project has given us the opportunity to hire a large team of local engineers and project managers, as well as hire past Hawaii residents that have wanted to come home to the Islands. With this new opportunity we hope to be able to offer over 100 additional positions to qualified Hawaii residents in the high technology sector."
Axean is a Dell small business partner specializing in distributed computing, infrastructure coordination and web application development and has been doing business in Hawaii since 1996.
