Axean Pacific Enters into Alliance with Dell

HAWAII COMPANY ENTERS INTO ALLIANCE WITH DELL COMPUTER MARKETING, L.P.

Honolulu, Hawaii - Axean Pacific has entered into an alliance with Dell Marketing, L.P., a component of Dell Computer Corporation, the world's leading direct computer systems company. The announcement was made today at the HITECHHAWAII@2000 conference.

"Dell recognizes and respects that Hawaii has a unique business environment, both geographically and culturally," says Kate Connolly, Dell's director of marketing, State & Local Government. "We chose to establish this alliance with Axean Pacific so that we could better understand and serve this market. Having found a local partner who uses repeatable processes to implement large-scale computer network and web based application development projects benefits both Dell and our customers in Hawaii."

"This alliance is just another example of Hawaii's growing presence in the global technology industry," says Joseph Blanco, Governor's Special Advisor for High Technology. "Under Governor Cayetano's leadership, we're succeeding in our efforts to get the message out that Hawaii is a great place to do business."

Axean Pacific will serve as a technology consulting partner for Dell, with an initial focus on the state and local government segment in Hawaii.

"By forming this alliance with Dell, we're able to help create more jobs and opportunities for the people of Hawaii," says Pamela Rigg, Partner and COO, Axean Pacific. "We now have the opportunity to train and employ local people with the skill sets needed to carry out the services that Dell has, in the past, flown into Hawaii to carry out."

The two companies will focus on large-scale network infrastructure projects, with the opportunity for creating a demand for Hawaiian network engineers, technicians, programmers and support personnel. More importantly, the alliance demonstrates to other mainland-based industry leaders that Dell not only respects the Hawaiian market, but believes in the future growth of Hawaii's business environment.

"It's great to see our local companies gaining the recognition they deserve from some of the biggest global technology companies," says Ann Chung, Executive Director, Hawai'i Technology Trade Association. "This just reinforces the fact that Hawaii's public and private sector efforts to work together to establish a solid foundation for Hawaii's high technology industry are paying off."

The alliance helps both companies to offer comprehensive solutions for their customer's information technology requirements. Axean Pacific uses the Axean Group's developed methodologies and tools to implement large-scale infrastructure projects and web based business applications. Dell Computer Corporation is the world's leading direct computer systems company and is a premier provider of products and services required for customers to build their internet infrastructures.
